Our English Sparkling Red is a Staffordshire Sparkling Red 2022, a rare and characterful brut sparkling wine sourced from the sheltered slopes of Halfpenny Green Wine Estate in South Staffordshire. Forward with black cherry and forest fruits, it is lifted by a smooth effervescence and develops into a delightful, almost smoky finish. Serve lightly chilled as an aperitif, or alongside roast meats, game and rich vegetable stews.
Why We Selected This Region
Red sparkling wine is one of the rarest styles in English winemaking, and South Staffordshire is home to one of its pioneers. Halfpenny Green has been growing vines here since 1983, on sheltered south-facing slopes 250ft above sea level with light, sandy, free-draining soils. For Chateau Noble, it represents English wine at its most distinctive and was a natural choice for our collection.

Chateau Noble Selection & Provenance
Produced by Halfpenny Green Wine Estate in South Staffordshire, England, this wine forms part of the Chateau Noble collection, showcasing wines from some of the world's most respected wine-growing regions.
Halfpenny Green is a family estate run by the Vickers family in Bobbington, where Martin Vickers planted the first half acre of vines in 1983 on a farm his grandfather bought in the 1930s. Today it covers almost 30 acres, making it one of the largest vineyards in the UK, with Martin's son Clive running the estate and making the wine.
